twelve weeks

baxter weighs five pounds already! he also has balls now, so he's pretty much the manliest little pup around. here he is next to a size nine shoe. he's welcome to camp out in my shoes whenever he wants when he finally comes home to us.

playing with olive:

sometimes i think about him and get all teary-eyed because i love him so much and can't wait to meet him. the little cutie.

sister

this is baxter's sister, olive. one of my three best friends adopted her, so baxter and olive will always get to be in each other's lives.

she looks just like their mother. here's olive:

welp, the ears flopped back

just shy of eleven weeks today - his ears flopped back after the taping, so he'll be getting it done again. his ears would naturally stand up without the taping, but this encourages them on their way. think of it like putting a stake in the ground next to a baby tree.

he got another round of shots today from his very loving breeder, sarah henery at yorkies of walnut hill. i can tell from the picture she sent that he was very brave.

ten weeks, two days

my boy has his ears taped up for 24 hours so they will stand on their own, like a little fox. (his ears weren't clipped like a doberman - no cutting, just holding them up)

no new pictures yet

...but a very important link to visit if you're thinking about buying a puppy from a breeder. this is a list of suspended AKC members. in other words, don't get your puppeh from them!

i'm born

hi, peeps. i'm baxter, a little yorkshire terrier puppy that wiggs and dave adopted. i was born september 26, 2009. i'll get to move into my new home on january 10, 2010. here's me with my brother and sister (i'm on the right).

okay, enough talking in my puppy's voice. this is wiggs, author of the beholder. i have a feeling that baxter's going to be getting a lot of photographic attention as he grows, and rather than annoy my readers with my puppy gushings, i figured i'd start a separate blog.

so if you're here, i assume you like puppies. or yorkies. or me. or whatever.

anyway, this will be the longest, most wordy post i write unless i've learned something useful to share (such as a training method or information about clipping puppeh toenails or something...but i am not an expert). most of this blog will be photos of baxter doing...you know...dog stuff.

also, until january 10, all of the photos i post will be provided by sarah henery, who runs yorkies of walnut hill. i could spend all day talking about how amazing she and her family are, but i'll go for brevity and simply say: if you're in the market for a yorkie, call her. she is incredible, she breeds wonderful, happy dogs, and she is one of the most responsible dog breeders i've found. booya.

anyhoo...that's enough. now onto more puppeh pictures!!!
